This Sunday was rather eventful. At the Code Geass 10th anniversary event, there was an announcement that this beloved series will be receiving a new anime. Its title would be Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch, which means Code Geass: Lelouch of the Revival. However, it is unknown and unconfirmed whether this anime is a TV series, an OVA or just a film.

The story will take place after a few years of the infamous events of Zero Requiem. Also, a three-part film series was also announced. This latter will be a recap of the original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, as well as Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 sequel series. What’s interesting is, the staff and cast will return once again to re-record the scripts for the new films. In addition to those, they are going to feature new scenes.
The first movie will open in 2017.
